It was a musical return to Social eyes after Christmas and then bingo and crafts.
The Green Team were out and about spreading Christmas cheer to all the Social eyes attendees. On their Whatsapp chat, messages were coming through from grateful parents/carers and guardians for all their hard work this year.
Here’s a few messages: –

And a message from Claire and Fay: – Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas, thank you for all your support through another stressful year. The Green team would like you to stay safe, make memories and remember how precious you all are to us.
Christmas parties were held at each of the Social eyes outreach centres. A birthday wasn’t missed, happy birthday Danielle. Still time for a visit to Wath Wood hospital to see the animals.
Christmas sandwiches for lunch alongside the festivities at Bramley while down at Parkgate hub festive headbands were constructed.
At Social Eyes we are extremely lucky to have a fantastic group of parents/carers/Green team members and volunteers who support our mission to provide a place of safety, learning and growing for adults with mild/moderate learning disabilities and Autism. The service is a five day a week service, encouraging friendships and fun for disadvantaged adults.
We offer numerous activities at a number of sites within the local community; and by tailoring all our activities to meet individual needs and interests we have built a brilliant day service.
This Christmas we decided as the community gives to us, so we would give back to the community, in gratitude for their unending support for our initiatives, Covid restrictions allowing. We sent out a newsletter to our parents/carers and we were not disappointed with the result.
We looked around and chose: – http://www.shilohrotherham.org.uk
Shiloh Rotherham is a charity that offers support to adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. They provide person centred wrap-around services both at their day centre and via outreach services in the community. All donations received go towards resourcing their frontline services which include: housing advice, education & training, support for health & addictions, rapid re-housing assistance, personal mentoring, creative activities, catering and the provision of practical resources.
Everyone who is homeless or at risk of homelessness will receive a warm welcome at Shiloh.
They offer a safe place where you will be accepted and supported throughout your time with them. They work alongside every ‘guest’ of Shiloh, to help them to plan for and realise a better future. All of the services are available for self-referral, but referrals from partners are also accepted.
We really value everyone who gives up their time to serve others and you are invited to join them.
Shiloh is an inspiring place where volunteers are supported to help make a lasting difference in people’s lives. They are very proud of their achievements, especially that in 2018 they received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service.
It is a significant award which really highlights the impressive ongoing commitment and dedication of the volunteer team.
This will be an ongoing collaboration between the two groups as we enter 2022.
