Let’s Party and catch up on KCM Arena dugout’s construction!!!

Party day and what a fantastic day… festive fun, food, friendship & video calls & exchange of Christmas wishes. We couldn’t do our pub Xmas lunches so the lunches came to us, shame about no beer!!

And an update on the dugouts up at KCM Arena that we watched being build during the summer when Rawmarsh St Josephs junior football club loaned us their ground so that we could continue our service in an outdoor setting during Lockdown 1.

Now with Lockdown 2 over they have finished the dugouts, while staying safe. The framework went up thanks to @Ry_Cresswell #rufc and Ant Clarke (who’s lad plays for the u9s). “We can’t thank you enough lads it’s much appreciated by all @RSJJFC”

Fun, games, bingo and birthday

Lots of fun and games today at both hubs. Some happy winners of bingo, Christmas sled assembly, more Christmas trees being painted and then a trip out to take socially distanced packs to those who are isolating/shielding. Also Happy Birthday to Kyra.

And just a reminder: Christmas is galloping towards us and the decisions we have made have not been taken lightly. In the hope of safeguarding our vulnerable service-users and respected staff team, we have decided to close both our Rawmarsh base and Parkgate unit on Friday 11th December 2020 at 3.30pm

This approach will mean that service-users will remain at home in preparation for safe Christmas gatherings with family and loved ones. If our service remained open, we would have the continued threat of COVID transmission and isolation periods which could totally spoil the festive period.

Social Eyes Day Service will continue to support our members by delivering activity packs, setting tasks, phone calls and virtual online support until our service closes for Christmas on Wednesday 23rd December 2020.

In these extreme times the responsibility to keep all of our precious service users safe is paramount and that has been essential in the decision we have made.

Closure on Friday 11th December 2020 will:

*Reduce the risk of COVID transmission over the festive period.

*Reduce the risk of compulsory isolation over the festive period.

*Give our service users, their families and carers the best opportunity to meet safely over the festive period.

*Allow Social Eyes to continue with an offer of support / provision whilst you remain at home in a safer environment.
