One more sleep before we return!

Are you excited at visiting the shops? Our service users are beyond excited to be returning to Social Eyes. Although it will be a different service to the one they left behind with all the restrictions, the staff have been working very hard to provide an exciting fun filled visit. We will be outside so anybody who knows a good sunshine dance will be dancing all day.

Today we have a look at the jigsaw competition between Claire & Martin, Paul [a father] completing the cake in the dark challenge, Sam singing in the rain and Richard crafting.

We will bring you photos of tomorrow’s [Wednesday] emotional return.

Learning disability week

Learning Disability Week 2020 is taking place online from 15 to 21 June.

The theme of the week is the importance of friendships during lockdown.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, we are all currently living in lockdown. This means that many people with a learning disability are feeling isolated, as they are unable to see their friends and families.

We know that people with a learning disability already experience high levels of loneliness and social isolation and that this will only have been made worse by the lockdown.

We want to show the importance of friendships to help with tackling isolation, as well as exploring the different ways of maintaining friendships during this unusual time.

WE ARE RETURNING

Next Wednesday 17th June Social Eyes returns and spirits are starting to soar ahead of the return. It will be a very different scenario as it will be for three hour spells instead of full day visits [12 until 3pm]; it will be held outside at Rawmarsh St Josephs pitch at Stubbin to allow social distancing rules to be adhered too. Each returnee will be accompanied by parents/carers TO ENSURE EVERYONE STAYS WITHIN THEIR OWN BUBBLE, or if this is not possible a member of Social Eyes staff will stay with them.

Although they will have to stay in their own group they can at least see their friends and begin to know that we will return things to normal as soon as possible.

This video was made for Claire and Faye for birthday celebrations but possibly hijacked to mark the return 💚 💚 💚 💚
