Social eyes is a day service provision for adults with mild / moderate learning disabilities and autism, based at Drop-in-centre, Harding Avenue, Rawmarsh and various outreach centres.
So, a fantastic busy week here at Social eyes Rotherham. There is lots for you to catch up on with photos on many of the tabs
So, turn on to The Banned, who had an extra special visitor, The Cafe, Football, Drama, Bowling and our exercise and skincare under the ladies projects, even though there were a few males in the skincare class.
Busy couple of days to start the week. Community group out and about, the helping hands also busy. The food and exercise group were concocting and the cafe was at full capacity as usual.
Week ending Saturday 17th February 2024
On Monday a trip to Wath Wood farm under that tab.
Lots of fun as it was pancake day on Tuesday 14th as it was also Valentine’s day. Head off to the cafe tab and see the fun!
Our Visual eyes members working hard on their presenting skills, the camera was rolling …… here’s a snip, looking forward to seeing the finished project!!
On Saturday 17th Feb the extra time club was held and update is under the Extra Time tab.
Annie is one of our youngest followers and loves to check the details are right on the website, particularly the names.
Under the ladies project there is a visit to the gym.
Under the football tab there is training.
Under our staff tab is Ellie’s leaving on maternity leave.
Under The Banned is this week’s rehearsals.
Under community outings there is news of the visit to the aircraft museum.
The ‘Jolly Boys’ have been out and about and the Creations group are in full swing.
And down at the Unit it was fun and games.
There was lots of hilarity and fun at health education this week as the functions of our bowels was discussed.

Lots of new trial games and activities this week.
First up was visual media and music recognition.
New games for indoors.
The jolly boys club had to forego their outing this week due to the rain.
Down at the unit the newsletter contents were under discussion.

The New Year has brought the return of favourite activities and some new activities which we are trying out.
Our weekly visits to Wath Wood Hospital farm have begun again.[Wath Wood Farm tab]
The café staff busy with preparations for the re-opening of the café @ Wickersley Cricket Club every Tuesday.[Cafe tab]

Trialing new activities for addition to the timetable, many of which I am sure will be added to the timetable shortly. [Below]
And our outing group paid a visit to RAF Finningley [Community outings tab]
There is also an update on our Creations team preparing sweet treats for Valentine Day. [Creations tab]
And the week finished with another community outing and a fitness class for the gentlemen.
2024 Begins!!

That special day is nearly here. The move to The Church has gone so smoothly and we are more than delighted.Although we still have the front room to finish, the work is moving on at a pace. We are looking to add an upgraded sensory room in the 2024 once fundsallow.
I am sure that, those of you who have visited the building will have been as delighted as we are with the new spacious premises, it’s bright and airy and welcoming feel; and we look forward to many, many happy years here.

It was a pizza Xmas party down at the Parkgate unit this week.Many thanks to Domino’s.
There was a concert and presentation to Rotherham Hospice.
The ladies fitness session had a change this week from aerobics and enjoyed a swimming session in the ladies projects.

There was a rehearsal by the Banned, under the Banned tab.
Over on men’s projectsJack returned to join the boys in a festive night out.
Another festive meal under the cafe taband these wonderful gingerbread houses.
This coming Saturday 20th January 2024 sees the relaunch of our famous Saturday breakfast club (which is where the Social eyes day service vision began back in 2016) Once a month enjoy breakfast with friends, hang out, take part in fun activities in a safe environment with qualified staff.
