Author: Social eyes Rotherham
Social eyes is a day service provision for adults with mild / moderate learning disabilities and autism, based at Drop-in-centre, Harding Avenue, Rawmarsh and various outreach centres.
Up at the Harding hub it was healthy food preparation day. Healthy eating is designed to provide the ability and knowledge to prepare healthy meals; this is a very popular and productive activitywith everyone enjoying eating their creations.
Meanwhile down at the training ground the footballers were getting fit.
Meanwhile down at football training it was all systems go as the teams trained for the 2021/2022 season in the South Yorkshire Ability Counts League; and hopefully another top of the League finish this season.
A date for your diary and your sat nav: – Tuesday 31st August @ Social Unit 10 Alexandra Centre, Rail Mill Way, Parkgate, Rotherham. Social Unit, Rail Mill Way, Parkgate S62 6JE
A group of Social eyes clients moved to an industrial unit in Parkgate late last year and the members of our Tuesday team have been working hard on a new project.
The group wanted the project to have an industrial link, which would allow our members to learn new skills, develop entrepreneurial opportunities & help build individuals confidence & wellbeing.
With this is mind the research, brain storming & planning began.
To cut a long story short, we are extremely proud to inform you that CREATIONS at Social eyes is now in full operation every Tuesday.
This is a creative group that will produce items to sell to members of the public. The first project to be launched is our ‘wax melts project’.
It’s now one week before our CREATIONS launch date and excitement is definitely building at The Social Unit and up at the Harding Avenue hub. socialuniteyes@gmail.com

At the launch you will get the chance to meet the CREATIONS team, buy/order our brand-new product, chat about our future ambitions & meet with other parents & carers.
I hope you will all support this fantastic new activity; the CREATIONS team have worked so hard to deliver.
It is a huge significant day for everyone at socialeyesrotherham.co.uk, our first commercial community event in over 18 months due to Covid.
The Green team are very proud of our service, the service users & of course our newly created wax melts.
It will also be an opportunity for our fantastic SOCIAL EARS (parents & carers forum) to reunite, share a brew & meet new parents & carers who are now linked to our service, let’s bring some normality back to our service.
We really hope you can all make the event on Tuesday, but if you can’t why not come along to the Wednesday coffee mornings up at the Drop in Centre on Harding Avenue, Rawmarsh. S62 7ED.
The coffee mornings begin on Wednesday 22nd September and everyone is welcome for a cuppa and a chat. All the drinks [hot and cold] will be £1.
Please, don’t be a stranger; come and make new friends and see what is on offer at the new revamped Parkgate/Rawmarsh Community Centre on Harding Avenue. We are right behind the bus stop and although there is limited parking in our car park, there is lots of on road parking.
There are lots of activities to catch up on as I have been away from the website [had visitors], so keep coming back over the next few days and see what the guys and gals have been up to.
Up at the Harding Avenue hub there has been colouring, paper mache work and mosaics alongside the keep fit singing and dancing and gardening.
Down at the Parkgate hub it was games indoors and out, exercise and surfing all culminating in Martin getting the clean up job.
Add in the days out and a very enjoyable first half of this week.
