A peek at some of this week’s activities

The week started with a delightful visit to Wath Wood farm, where we had the opportunity to feed the animals, including playful goats and adorable sheep, and engage with the friendly farm staff who shared fascinating stories about their daily routines. After spending a joyous morning on the farm, we returned to the hub filled with energy, ready for an array of fun activities that included group exercises and team-building games, which not only kept us fit but also strengthened our camaraderie and boosted our spirits.

On Tuesday, it was an exciting day out filled with opportunities to explore and learn, as we ventured into the park, where more animals awaited to be fed and cared for. The sun shone brightly above, casting a warm glow on the vibrant surroundings, enhancing the joy of interacting with the various species that called this place home. Each stop along the way presented us with the chance to watch majestic creatures up close, and it was our responsibility to ensure they were well-fed and content throughout the day.

The Banned’s latest gig was at Forest View School, and the audience was excited to see the performance. Set against the backdrop of the school’s familiar walls, the atmosphere was electric as fans anticipating an unforgettable music set. The band took to the stage, their enthusiasm infectious, creating a vibrant connection that filled the air with a sense of pure joy and excitement.

And back at the hubs, preparation for Mother’s Day was in full swing, with songs and creations helping with vibrant paper flowers being arranged and heartfelt cards being crafted to express love and appreciation. Excitement and anticipation buzzed as everyone worked together, eager to celebrate the amazing women in their lives.

Seeds and singing

A bright and cheerful morning was spent preparing the seed trays for planting, where we meticulously utilised the soil and placed the seeds with care and attention. This was followed by an afternoon filled with the joyous melodies of song and dance, as laughter echoed through air and friends gathered to celebrate the beauty of nature and creativity.

Helping hands, Show offs and Creations teams

The helping hands enjoyed a refreshing tea break meeting before starting work, taking the opportunity to discuss the day’s tasks ahead and share light-hearted stories. As they sipped their steaming cups, laughter filled the air, creating a warm atmosphere that helped foster camaraderie among the group. Once the break concluded, they felt re-energized and ready to tackle the challenges that awaited them, united in purpose and spirit.

Meanwhile, back at base, the Show Offs drama group was in rehearsals, fervently preparing for their upcoming performance. The air was thick with excitement as actors practiced their lines with enthusiasm, while the director offered constructive critique to refine their portrayals. . As the clock ticked down to the show, the passion and creativity flowing through the group was palpable, fostering a sense of camaraderie and determination among all involved.

Down at the Parkgate hub, the Creations team were in action, bustling with energy and creativity as they collaborated on various innovative projects. The atmosphere was vibrant, and laughter ringing out, while team members eagerly shared their visions and expertise. Each member brought a unique skill set, contributing to a dynamic environment where inspiration flourished, and new concepts were brought to life in a myriad of exciting ways.

Pancake making, eating and racing

It was a busy day at our sites on Tuesday as pancake day was celebrated with the making, eating, and racing of delicious pancakes. Throughout the morning, we whipped up the thick batter, adding fun mix-ins like oranges and strawberries, creating delightful variations.
