Friends and video calls

The virus may close our buildings and stop us meeting friends

The snow may block the roads and keep us in our homes

But friendship finds a way, around any obstacle.

Our Social Eyes buddies still find a way

To keep our spirits up, now all the Christmas chocs are done.

Video calls, some more successful than others

Make sure we aren’t lonely.

We may have parents or carers who live with us

But friends cheery greetings keep us smiling.

We are not alone.

Thankyou to the Social Eyes buddies xx

Foodbank, friends and a birthday

Although we have been closed since Monday the activities still continue.

The staff have been and made a donation to Morrisons foodbank. They have also been doorstep visiting with activity packs and video calling others.

So, we have a photo roundup of the first week in Lockdown 3 plus the NHS Covid-19 warning.

Approximately 1 in 3 people who have coronavirus have no symptoms and could be spreading it without realising it. You must not leave, or be outside of your home except where necessary. Stay safe everyone we will be back together again soon.

A very happy birthday to our ‘strong man’ Lewis!!!

Happy birthday from all your Friends at Social eyes Lewis

Happy New Year 2021

Happy New Year everyone.

We re-opened briefly on Monday 4th January 2021, however due to the pandemic and in the best interests of everyone, the Social Eyes team have now taken the decision to close the service and remain closed until further notice.

At the time this was decided no formal governance had been given to do this, but Claire, Faye and The Green Team felt strongly that this was the safest & right option. At this point this was an in-house management decision which was confirmed as the right decision by later government announcements.

It was not an easy decision, but safety will always come first and our duty of care to our special service users and their families.

Updates re this decision will be posted; while we will continue to deliver activity packs & remain in close contact through telephone calls and garden visits with all our service users.

The Green team and everyone at Social Eyes are disappointed that we cannot meet; and it might be a bit too chilly to relocate to the KCM Arena, as we did in the summer.

Here’s a few photos of the Monday session before the decision was taken.
