We have regrouped and carry on

A the start of the new week, after last Thursday’s theft of our minibus and we bounce back and are back on track.

Thank you to every single person who have offered support, kind words, donations etc. Social Eyes is so lucky to have so many kind and caring people supporting us.

We have all been overwhelmed and inspired by the magnitude of generosity and genuine care for our service and most importantly our precious service users. We are happy to say that we  have hit our target in the crowdfunding page of £5,000 and any extra money raised [the funding has to stay open for 30days] will be used towards increased security of our new bus. We are having bollards fitted in our car park that retract up and down alongside various other top secret security measures, so that we don’t get targeted again.

Can we at this point give a special mention to Go2 Travel of Rawmarsh and it’s owner Jamie Hammerton. He is kindly using his minibus and driving Social Eyes to all their community activities this week. Without his help our service users would have missed out on their planned activities at Wathwood farm and football, etc. [see below photos] Jamie had one of his minibuses stolen from Rawmarsh earlier this year and knows all too well what upset and disruption these crimes cause to small businesses like Social Eyes.

One service user commented, “great news and thanks to everyone for their generosity as that bus means the world to our sons and daughters. THANK YOU ONE AND ALL.”

Our café day at Wickersley Methodist Church can now go ahead tomorrow, Tuesday 11am to 2pm [as it does every single Tuesday]. Our service users help with the baking and preparation and serve all the meals. The café is open to anyone passing through the Wickersley area on a Tuesday lunchtime. Beautiful surroundings, reasonably priced and all the food is freshly baked and the menu tomorrow includes: Bangers & mash, Quiche & salad, Jacket Potatoes with fillings, Chocolate cake, Almond tart, Cherry scones & hot lemon sponge and custard.

Thank you sincerely the guys & gals of Social Eyes Rotherham !!!!
