Day provision for adults with mild/moderate learning disabilities and Autism
Author: Social eyes Rotherham
Social eyes is a day service provision for adults with mild / moderate learning disabilities and autism, based at Drop-in-centre, Harding Avenue, Rawmarsh and various outreach centres.
Fun and games again up at Harding Avenue. It was Katie’s birthday and floor dominoes while other staff were out delivering activity packs to the isolated bubble from the Unit.
At home Richard painted a branch he brought back from his walk and when it was dried added decorations.
Busy day up at Harding Avenue. On the phone, contact was opened with The Unit crew who are having to isolate due to a Covid-19 positive test closing their bubble, while other staff members were out and about socially distanced, delivering work packs. There was a bus trip out which I am sure will yield photos in this week’s bus challenge.
Meanwhile the crafters were in full swing at Harding.
Oh no, the virus has hit The Unit again, so unfortunately, we have had to close Parkgate with immediate effect due to a positive test for Covid. The Unit will reopen on Thursday 26th November after the quarantine period.
Staff will continue to deliver activity packs to all the people who can not attend Social eyes.
The Rawmarsh base is open as normal.
Birthdays continue despite Covid-19 and this weekend it was Richard’s.
Here’s the latest from the Cardiff Nightingale hospital build.
Stay safe everyone and please remember this is a temporary period, better days are on the way.
The third bus challenge was enjoyed this week. The Unit crew and the Harding Avenue gang, on their bus outings, have really entered into the spirit of this. This weeks challenge was to find a bench with a lovely view; outside a pub [very hotly contended]; animal/s; a venue Social Eyes used before lockdown and finally a place you would like to go if we weren’t in lockdown.
Remember the Cardiff Nightingale in the Principal Stadium that my son fitted the nurse call systems in, it has now been decommissioned so the rugby can go ahead?? Replaced by another new one being built, modular style, in the grounds of the University of Wales.
Here we go: – the modules arrive for unloading.
Unloaded and joined together.
These modules are all fitted inside and just need the electrics, nurse call systems and furniture, watch: –
At Harding Avenue it was a baking morning, with jam and cream scones on the menu. Meanwhile down at the Unit it was a morning of Children in Need Joe Wicks workout.Joe completed his 24 hour workout challenge and raised an incredible £1,520,020 for BBCChildren In Need.
