A trip out, potato harvest and Sunflower Lanyard still not recognised

All eyes are on the forecast for our next sessions up at the KCM Arena @Stubbin. According to the forecasters the temperature is set to rise for Wednesday and peak on Friday. Let’s hope they are right.

Our new week got off to a great start yesterday with a trip out and the lifting of our potato harvest up at the allotment.

Sorry to bang on again, but once again this weekend a relative commented why a healthy looking person was not wearing a face covering in the supermarket. However, they did have a lanyard on but the general public seemed unaware of its meaning.

There are still so many people, especially those not connected to the disabled community, who are still unaware that the Sunflower Lanyard is the sign of a hidden disability.

This lanyard exempts the wearer from wearing a face covering.

Please make sure that your social circle, and consequently their extended social circle, are aware of its significance.

The Banned, Friday activities & Cafe memories

More Friday activities with The Banned providing a musical background.

Happy memories for the Cafe crew of producing wonderful meals for sale in our Cafe and also the produce we produced last year on our allotment to be used in the Cafe. Hopefully we will all be back after Covid, doing the things we love.

All our activities are now labelled either before or after Covid, but the smiles have remained constant throughout everything this virus and the weather have thrown at us. Since the service resumed in its limited outdoor setting, the rainy weather has caused cancellations.

This is a service that is needed and greatly appreciated and must be kept viable. Behind the scenes work continues apace to make our buildings safe and so enable us to return indoors before winter arrives. Please help and support us.

Week 6 of the Summer of Sports

On Friday up @KCM Arena the Summer of Sports continued. The watchers provided excellent support and encouragement to the contestants. Only two more weeks left before the winner is unveiled. Will it be X Factor, Bumble Bee, The Rock or In it Together who will be crowned champions? The competition is still wide open.

Meanwhile on Saturday up @KCM Arena @ Stubbin dugout number 3 has gone up. Mick, Paul & Kev just have 1 more dugout to erect, then the the roofs can go on, hopefully for the resumption of football… #oneclub
