Memories being made on Wednesday @KCM Arena, with once again the threat of rain, fantastic performances in the great outdoors; enjoying ice creams on our bus trip out and birthday celebrations for a very popular young lady with evening diner to round her birth day celebrations off. Happy birthday Claire xx 💚 💚 💚

Memories of activities during the last 2 week BEFORE lockdown, progress on the dugouts and this week’s activities plus kitchen update.
Before we were locked down we were about to start raising funds to upgrade the kitchen in the Drop-in-Centre. Today we have had a meeting with kitchen fitters to give us a ball-park estimate of how much we would need.!!!! As we would like to do the work while the Centre is not being used, which would limit the disruption, we need to look to raising some funds within the Covid guidelines.
We see this upgrade of the kitchen as essential to allow the Centre to fulfil its present activities and allow Social Eyes users to gain cooking experience, but also allow the Centre to be used for the benefit of the local population, allow friendship groups to meet, childrens parties or even adult parties, coffee mornings, etc. Socially distanced activities are essential at the moment to try and bring life back to normal.
Meanwhile today’s set of photos were taken in the two weeks before we went into lockdown. Oh happy days!!! There were walks, visits, football and the last Banned practice and all with no social distancing. Little did we know the change we were about to have to adapt to. 💚 💚 💚
Update on the progress of the dugouts at KCM Arena @Stubbin,whose football-field they are kindly allowing us to use for our day service. The concrete bases are now laid, thanks to Ricky and Craig for their expertise and time which is much appreciated… Next job is building them. 💚 💚 💚
And just to finish. This week’s memories include Rachel in her garden, Richard’s sunflower finally blooming, Sam has been camping out again and a video of Richard at his second home – the gym. Many thanks to their parents for these lovely photos.💚 💚 💚

Memories of birthdays, farm visits and THE PUB!!
Morning readers, thank you for dropping by. Tuesday’s, as my regular readers know, are memory photos days.
As a service we take photographs constantly throughout every session, mainly for parents/carers to see how much every user enjoys their time with us but also, so there is nothing hidden or behind the scenes at Social Eyes Rotherham.
All out service users are deemed as vulnerable due to the number of health issues they live with daily. For many a visit to Social Eyes is the highlight of their week so we make sure their enjoyment is our aim.Â
This is not a promotional article. It’s a reminder of, I am sure the parents/carers will echo, how essential this service has become during this pandemic. We are continually adapting our service within the Covid rules to allow us to continue offering routine to our users, who thrive on routine.
Here’s a few activity memories from 2018, while our second block of photos show birthday celebrations. At Social Eyes everyone’s birthday is celebrated [ staff as well] and some are in different venues depending on where the activities of the day are taking place.
Activities & Memories
Morning, Monday arrived again. Just checked the weather forecast for this week and the temperatures are set to rise each day, giving us the three warmest days of the week for our field activities.
Here are a few more photos from last week and some memories. A trip to the Caster @ Parkgate, to the garden centre, exercising and the launch of our cd.
Come back tomorrow for more memories. 💚 💚 💚
Has anyone got a Rotherham United tea-towel they will donate ??
Raising funds for socialeyesrotherham.co.uk which is a day provision for adults with mild/moderate learning disabilities and Autism and a high percentage of Rotherham fans.
Has anyone got a Rotherham United tea-towel that was sold in Red shop about 2014!! I was asked to make masks out of one yesterday for my nephew and this is how they turned out. Now if anyone has a tea-towel they would like to donate, any donations made from sale of masks will be donated to Social Eyes, the donator gets a mask for free.
Scoured the internet to try and find the material source, without success, so you’re my last resort. My model, as a Sheffield Utd fan, did not wish to be identified. Mask and small bag [from off cuts] to keep/wash the mask in.
Because of its age the tea-towel was a little faded but who cares. If you support the team, you support the team. UTM
