Hello everyone, let me introduce myself. I am Bobby the bauble and I’m going to tell you all about my adventures, before I am placed on a Christmas tree. Forget the big money ads that punctuate the TV programs. Follow a simple little bauble on his adventures with the Green Team from Social Eyes [adult disability group] I’m sure we will have fun!!

My journey began in Devon where I was kindly made and bubble wrapped, then I travelled all the way up the M1 to lovely Rotherham.

I spent my first few weeks at the Parkgate unit in front of the camera on photo shoots for the exclusive 2021 Creations Christmas cards where I appear on all 5 designs. The Creations team have demonstrated their photography, imagination, design and production skills to complete this project.

Lots to catch up today. The activities provided by Social eyes are so varied and exciting it’s difficult to keep track, but here goes.

Today we feature an autumnal walk, the Show Offs rehearsing, the café once again presenting an invited visitors buffet, the festive crafts in full production and it was Carol’s birthday.

Here come the café crew led by the three Social eyes ladies.

Halloween treats were on the baking agenda up at the Harding Avenue hub. The witches were in attendance to make sure spells were cast and everything was stirred well.

Up at Wickersley Cricket Club hub the cooks were preparing a birthday buffet for Oliver and his family as practise for when the Social Stop Café re-opens in the new year.

And Oliver’s musician friends up at the Kimberworth hub, where The Banned were practising, they too wanted to wish him Happy Birthday.

Social eyes would like to give a huge shout out to The Strines Inn for their support in raising £505 to help fund a new mini bus after ours was stolen last month.

Set in the beautiful countryside surrounding Sheffield, with stunning views from the pub garden, The Strines Inn is a historic, atmospheric inn with hearty food and excellent real ales.

They have an enclosed play area for family fun, and open fires so that you can warm up throughout the winter months. 

Our menu consists of traditional pub favourites that have earned us a fine reputation for quality food, and we even have unique accommodation available.

The building that now houses The Strines Inn was originally a manor house built in 1275. Over the years it was extended and eventually converted into an inn in 1771. The word ‘strine’ is an Old English term for the meeting of water, which is appropriate as the inn overlooks the nearby Strines Reservoir.

Our rooms all feature four-poster beds, en-suite bathrooms, hot drinks facilities and colour televisions. Each has a dining table where breakfast will be served to you, offering you comfort and privacy. Two of our rooms have fantastic views across the reservoir, so please ask if you would like a room with a view.

The Social eyes ladies enjoyed a visit to Rotherham United Football Ground to celebrate Women’s UEFA Euro 2022 qualifiers in England.

It was a top night, at a top Stadium, Social eyes ladies thoroughly enjoyed the event. It was so nice to meet Val Hoyle, Rotherham United womens football ambassador…… Bring on the Euros!!
